Scientists have discovered why people get fat

The doctors started talking about the existence of a sixth taste.

Scientists from the Australian University Deakin University have found a new sixth man of taste, who is responsible for a passion for carbohydrates and consequently, obesity.

The group of experts in the field of healthy nutrition, headed by Julia Lowe found that a person is able to enjoy all five flavors (salty, bitter, sour, sweet and umami (taste of protein-rich substances)), and six. New taste meets passion for people to carbohydrates.

Accordingly, people who are more sensitive to this kind of taste have a great passion for bread, potatoes, pasta and various baked goods. And this is, in turn, makes them obese. Previously, scientists believed that these people are attracted to the taste of sugar, but now it turned out that they are attracted to the taste of carbohydrates.

Australian researchers conducted an experiment involving 34 adults. They have found that some of them are particularly responsive to two of the most common carbohydrates contained in pasta, rice and bread. The experts decided to assess whether and how these people sensitive to this flavor, has determined the number of consumed carbohydrates, the caloric value of their food and the amount of fat in the body.

It turned out that obese people taste buds react to the carbohydrates in a special way. This means that the innate taste directly affects the increase of fat in the human body.
