Thanks to artificial intelligence and machine learning, scientists have created an algorithm that provides the look of cities in the future.
Such a move was able to implement the scientists from the University of a coruña in Spain.
For their work, scientists were inspired by natural biological systems. They suggested that the evolutionary process can be adapted to the urban environment.
The algorithm is able to estimate the number of high-rise buildings and to determine the place in which they are likely to be built.
The test was run on the Minato district in Tokyo. He is one of the most rapidly growing areas of the world.
Architect and head of the research group of the University of a coruña Ivan Pazos said that the algorithm showed accuracy of 80%.
Accordingly, scientists have learned to successfully find patterns of the city growth that are not obvious in large systems and to predict possible scenarios of its evolution.
