Scientists have created an unusual variety of banana

These apples have unique properties.

A new variety of genetically modified bananas, created by an international group of scientists from Australia and the Netherlands, are able to resist infection dangerous fungus. According to researchers, their opening will allow to keep the fruit from destruction.

The spread of the fungus called Fusarium oxysporum led to the almost complete annihilation of a number of popular varieties of banana.

In laboratory tests, scientists were able to establish that in 80% of cases genetically modified fruits are not affected by the fungus, and is able to survive the spread of dangerous diseases.

Experts believe that the new variety will be able to obtain the mass distribution after a few years. At the same time, there is no doubt that genetically modified products will be a success in the world market, since currently there are plenty of other ways to fight the fungus.
