The use of gas stoves for cooking could have a negative impact on children’s health.
A comparative study conducted by scientists from Hong Kong, showed that the children several times increases the probability of chronic respiratory diseases including allergic rhinitis, bronchial asthma, sinusitis and bronchitis.
The study authors, led by Professor of tze Wai Wong of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, has selected two groups of children from the area where the air pollution was high, and an area with relatively favorable ecological conditions. Parents of 426 children aged from several months to 6 years were asked how often they cook on gas.
Chronic respiratory disease was detected in a quarter of all children, while those who lived in prosperous on air pollution the district has been a clear link between the use of gas stoves in the home and risk of disease. When using the stove two or more times per day the risk increased six times if the stove was cooking once a day, it tripled.
