According to employees of the University, the cows needed to be happy, spacious rooms, good air circulation and place where you can hide from the heat. Scientists believe that happy cows produce more milk.
“I think we need to provide them with a Spa treatment,” — said the head of research at the University of Wisconsin Nigel Cooke.
He was in the company of a team of specialists throughout the study period visited the farm and studied animal behavior and the factors that affect stress. Cook noted that great discomfort to animals causes pain in the legs caused by the need to stand for a long period of time.
“The condition of the animal influences the process of milking, how it eats and so on,” says cook.
To relieve stress experts recommend the cow to create the most comfortable conditions, to feed the animals at one time and divide them into small groups according to age.
Farmer Mitch Breunig of Madison has invested more than $100 million to make the cows happier, and I am sure that all the funds went to benefit the business. Milk production on the farm increased from 49 to 57 litres. In addition, animals Breunig are living longer with less of injury.
