An international group of scientists from the max Planck Institute and the University of Hawaii at Manoa came to the conclusion that the ancient Homo sapiens several times left Africa and mixed with other hominids.
New paleontological findings forced to reconsider the classical conception in the framework of the hypothesis of African origin of man, according to which people evolved on the continent and 60 thousand years ago in a migration wave spread across the planet.
The new findings were made in the light of new data obtained from the analysis of archaic DNA, and ancient fossils of H. sapiens that have been found in South-East Asia. Human remains, whose age is 70-120 thousand years, was discovered in South and Central China. The results of recent genetic research showed that two percent of the genome of the natives of Papua New Guinea inherited from ancestors, who left Africa before 60 thousand years ago.
