Schwarzenegger revealed the first ever electric Hummer

The power reserve of an electric Hummer H1 is 300 kilometers.

The Austrian company Kreisel Electric developed the first ever Hummer H1 with electric propulsion. Public premiere of the car took place during the opening of a new centre of research and development firms. As reported by Prnewswire, the ceremony was attended by Arnold Schwarzenegger and Austrian Chancellor Christian Kern.

“Kreisel Electric electrified my G-Class last winter. And now to turn a Hummer. If Kreisel will continue at the same pace, I will soon be able to fly here from Los Angeles on electric aircraft,” — said Schwarzenegger.

The car exists only as a prototype. The car had two electric motors on front and rear axle. Also, the power plant includes a battery with a capacity of 100 kilowatt-hours. The total capacity of the new model is 490 horsepower.

The car’s top speed is 120 km per hour. The power reserve of an electric Hummer H1 does not exceed 300 kilometers. Vehicle weight is 3.3 tons. In a series of run new are not planning.

Earlier Kreisel Electric motor has prepared a concept for the Ultimate E created on the basis of the city car Smart ForTwo. Also in the development of the prototype took part tuning Studio Brabus. Public premiere of new items took place at the Frankfurt motor show.

The unit develops 150 kW (204 HP) and 350 Nm of torque. The engine is able to disperse the 1085 kg car from standstill to 100 km/h in just 4.5 seconds. The maximum speed of the prototype was 180 km per hour. The electric motor is powered by a Li-ion battery capacity of 22 kWh, which provide a range of 160 kilometers (European cycle NEDC). The stock battery using the quick charging system is filled to 80% in about half an hour.
