Samsung patented charging for 12 seconds battery

The new technology involves the synthesis of graphene – carbon element derived from graphite.

Samsung has patented charging for 12 seconds, a graphene battery. The new battery will provide high speed charging, while at the same time – protection from high temperatures.

The publication reports that graphene conducts electricity to 140 times faster than silicon. And this, in turn, increases the charging rate of the battery five times.

The use of graphene balls in the manufacture of batteries increases their capacity by 45 per cent.

A new technology developed by Samsung Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT), can also be used in electric cars.
