Approximately 40 kilometres South of Berlin is a small town of Wünsdorf, where about six thousand inhabitants.
But less than thirty years ago its population was 60 thousand people, mainly soldiers of the red army. They lived on one of the biggest military bases in Europe in the biggest Soviet military camp outside the USSR.
Former headquarters of the Soviet forces in Germany was so large that he was nicknamed “Little Moscow”, and trains in the Soviet capital were sent daily. There were schools, shops, hospitals and recreation areas.
