Russian search engine Satellite can be closed

Search engine Sputnik, despite millions of investments and state aid, are unable to conquer the market.

Russian search engine Sputnik, launched by the company Rostelecom in the spring of 2014. The project will be either closed or reoriented to other tasks.

The initial investment in the project amounted to $20 million, the total investment Rostelecom did not disclose.

Satellite revenue in 2015 amounted to 136,6 million rubles (approximately $2.2 million), loss – 150,5 million rubles ($2,46 million).

Now Sputnik, OOO on 74,99% owned subsidiary of Rostelecom.
