In a press-service of the Ministry of foreign Affairs of Ukraine said that Kyiv has drawn the attention of the member States of the International Maritime organization (MO) on the provocative actions of Russia in the Northern part of the Black sea, threatening the safety of navigation.
Ukraine made a statement during the 98th session of the Committee on safety at sea in London, which urged Russia to “take all possible measures to cessation of the internationally wrongful acts in Maritime search and rescue area of Ukraine and to offer appropriate assurances and guarantees of non-repetition in the future.”
“The latest provocative actions of the Russian side, due to an attempt to discourage the activities of Ukrainian rescue boats during the April 23 regular exercises Maritime search and rescue service of Ukraine once again confirm the complete disregard by Russia of all norms and principles of international law”, – reads the statement of the Ukrainian delegation.
Ukraine also recalled that at the previous session of the Committee on safety at sea, it was decided to begin monitoring the situation with the safety of navigation in the Northern part of the Black sea, which after the annexation of Crimea actually turned into a “gray area” for shipping.
