The international Olympic Committee after the report of Dr. Richard McLaren announced new sanctions against Russian participants of the winter Olympic games 2014 in Sochi.
After the Olympic champion in cross-country skiing on 50 kilometers Alexander Passenger status medalist of the Olympics lost another skier. The IOC for violating anti-doping rules annulled the results of the Maxim Vylegzhanin, who at Sochi won three silver (in the marathon, team sprint Nikita Kryukov and relay 4 to 10 kilometers).
Vylegzhanin will lose only two medals as the silver for the relay and it already seized, as soon as it became known about the doping scandal of the passenger cars.
After suspension Vylegzhanin and passenger cars new Olympic champion in the marathon was another Russian Ilia Chernousov. It allowed Russia to keep the lead in the medal standings of the Olympic games in Sochi 13 gold, 8 silver and 8 bronze medals. 11-6-12 Norway, and Canada – 10-10-5.
The international Olympic Committee prepares the decision by members of the national team of Russia in skeleton, bobsleigh and biathlon. In the case of extensive new sanctions Russia may not go to the upcoming Olympic games in Pyeongchang.
