Russia gave the Philippines thousands of Kalashnikovs

The President of the Philippines boasted help from a reliable partner.

“We have Kalashnikovs, five thousand, and 20 army trucks. It is a gift of Russia to combat terrorism. The transport will arrive on 22 October,” said Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte, adding a short phrase: “it’s free”.

Russian weapons should arrive just in time for the regional meeting, which will be attended by the Minister of defence of Russia. In addition to these expected supplies of ammunition and trucks.

The President explained that the military assistance is required to combat terrorism.

Duterte in may at a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin asked him for modern weapons. At the same time, he noted that he considers the country a reliable partner.
