Russia was unable to launch from the Baikonur cosmodrome, the rocket carrier Soyuz 2.1 a, which was put into orbit by a space cargo ship Progress.
“Previously there were technical problems on the carrier rocket “Soyuz 2.1 A”, – reported a source at the cosmodrome.
According to preliminary data, the problem could be with the electrics or engine management system, however, to draw conclusions about the reasons for the cancellation of the launch will be only a special Commission.
In turn, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin said that the launch of the carrier rocket has been postponed in connection with operation automation.
“Automation unplugged start. Now the state finds out what the question”, – said Rogozin reporters. However, Rogozin said that “for automation and cost to this (crash – ed.) didn’t happen.”
Answering the question of whether to punish the perpetrators of the incident, he said, “Now the state will do, and generally it is a matter of Roscosmos. “The government is not engaged, it not accident,” he added.
The spacecraft was supposed to deliver to the ISS fuel, food, water and other necessary goods. Now the truck’s launch Progress postponed for two days – on October 14.
