Russia Facebook fined on 3 thousand roubles

The Tagansky district court of Moscow has appointed Facebook a fine of 3 thousand rubles for refusing to provide information on the localization of personal data of Russian users in Russia.

“Representatives of Facebook second time did not attend the meeting and, according to the court, not sent applications for transfer of proceedings. In this regard, the case was considered without them,” – said in the publication.

In the case stated that in the course of correspondence Facebook and Roskomnadzor, the company has explained to the regulator that the infrastructure of services social networks is arranged in such a way that the “data is not segmented on a geographic basis”.

Roskomnadzor 17 Jan received from Twitter and Facebook responses to the request for localization data of Russians in Russia.

The head of the Russian regulator Alexander Zharov said that the answers did not contain specifics, therefore, in respect of the services were drawn up administrative protocols.

From 1 September 2015 in Russia came into force the law on the localization of personal data of Russians on servers inside the country.
