We already told you about the upcoming film “Summer of piranhas”, the original Japanese contribution to the famous franchise, started in 1978. In fact, the Summer of the Piranha is the international name, whereas in the homeland the film was originally called simply Piranha JPN. However, the project was joined a cult producer Roger Corman, whose 91st birthday we recently celebrated, in the Area of Horror, and have already made the first adjustments. Or rather, we changed the name.
That’s how Corman comments on his page in Facebook:
…I announced a new addition in the franchise “Piranha”, but something was bugging me. I called my partner to a producer and told her what seems to be the name CATCHY enough.
I believe that the title should be a movie: “Creature from the abyss”, “attack of the crab monsters”, “Bloody party”, “Sharktopus”. I said we need a name that immediately shows the horror of our history, and I said, “JPN PIRANHA: the PIRANHA TEETH”. She laughed and replied that she likes, so we’re going to use this name.
Will affect whether this change in the international name of the painting is unknown, so we have been “Summer of piranhas”, and left. Meanwhile, not so long ago became known some details about the plot of this film. Perhaps we will encounter a huge Mother Piranha. Moreover, caste was joined by Christopher Lloydstarring in the previous two installments of the franchise on the ever-hungry tropical fish. Partner Roger Corman in the production function acts as Hisako Tsukuba. Currently they are seeking a Director for their project.
The movie release is scheduled for autumn this year. It is in the spirit of antiquity Korman.
