Hyndai is working on a mid-engined hot hatch.
Hyundai Motor Company and Kia Motors Corporation has invested 80 million euros in Croatian manufacturer of electric hypercar and battery systems Rimac Automobili. Under the agreement, the companies will jointly develop two electric sports car.
Rimac, being an expert in the field of construction hypercar with electric propulsion systems, will help Kia and Hyundai in cars. The first will be the electric version of the mid-engined sports car, the basis for which was a series of concepts Racing Midship, the second is “charged” model of the fuel cell.
That Hyndai is working on a mid-engined hot hatch, it became known last year – this was confirmed by the head of the sports division of Hyundai N albert Biermann. The last prototype of such a machine – RM16 – equipped with a 2.0-liter T-GDi with an electric compressor and 48-volt batteries (300 HP and 383 Nm of torque). From zero to “hundreds” RM16 accelerates in 4.7 seconds.
In the line of Rimac there are two electric hypercar. Presented in 2018 C_Two is equipped with four electric motors, the total capacity of 1914 horse power. Each motor is equipped transmission: single-stage two-stage front and rear. From a standstill to 60 mph (96 kilometers per hour) C_Two can be dispersed in of 1.84 seconds.
