Reva told, many Ukrainians work in the shadows

In Ukraine up to 7 million working people do not make contributions to the pension system.

In Ukraine, the income of 6 to 7 million working-age population are in the shadows and it citizens do not pay contributions to the pension system. This was stated by Minister of social policy Andrei Reva, the press service of the Ministry of social policy.

“We have a problem is not bad demography, as some are trying to convince us, and that 6 to 7 million of the working population is in the shade and does not pay contributions to the pension system. Therefore, higher requirements for insurance experience is create the conditions under which employees will require the employer to comply with its obligations to them and to register them officially at work. After all, the employer pays the contributions to the joint pension scheme for their employees,” said Reva.

It is noted that the increasing demands for the insurance period will help to eliminate the causes that led to the actual bankruptcy of the Pension Fund, while avoiding the need to raise the retirement age.

“With the development of a draft pension reform, the Government set the goal of not reducing the number of pensioners because of the increase in the retirement age, and widening the circle of payers of the single social contribution. Raising the retirement age, moreover, would not solve the problem of the Pension Fund, moreover, would put in the same losing position and those who minimized the costs for non-payment of dues, and those who worked honestly all his life and earned his retirement,” – said the Minister.
