One of the goals of the pension reform – legalization.
According to the Ministry of social policy of Ukraine, today in the “shadow” sector of the economy employs 8 million people. This was stated by the Minister of social policy Andrei Reva in an interview with “Radio Liberty”.
According to the head of the Ministry of social policy, one of the goals of pension reform is the legalization.
“Today, when 8 million people, according to our estimates, operate in the “shadow” sector of the economy and have no incentive to go out, when we change the pension rules and say that not 15 years from next year need to have a minimum insurance period of 25 years to come out in 60 years, it would force many who are currently working in the “shadow” to reflect and put the matter before his employer,” the Minister said.
He also said that the expanded powers of local governments, in particular, for the control of wages and more generally in the fight against “shadow” employment.
“We’ve heard so many apocalyptic predictions that, say, your minimum wage will lead to “shadowing” and all that stuff, and so, from 1 January to date, we have a number of contributors to the ESV grew by 362 thousand people, plus an additional” – says Reva.
