Or is it something independent and worthwhile? Try to understand.
We are talking about the film called “Atonement” (The Atoning). The trailer in an obvious manner reminiscent of such films as “Insidious” and “the Curse Annabel”, which has put or has produced illustrious James WAN.
There are no creepy dolls, but there is a vaguely familiar demon haunting a family. However, the demon slender female figure. So it turns out a kind of demonic Mystic black from the”X-Men”. And damn, it looks cool. Again all these hands reaching out of the darkness, thin fingers… Not new, but always excellent and creepy.
Spoils impression a disgusting young actor of Bosarge cannon (TV’s “Bonnie and Clyde”), which, apparently, plays a leading role here. Michael Lacour (“Nashville”), who plays the boy’s father, appears in the trailer briefly, but manages to concoct such a pretend face that become ill. Some hope is a mother, the actress Virginia NEWCOM (“C. S. I. crime scene”).
Think about it.
Meanwhile, the synopsis of “Redemption” seems to be hopeless:
Vera, ray and Sam — an ordinary family. An ordinary family faced with supernatural horrors. But they are pursued by more than just ghosts. The burden of the past does not allow them to again become a loving family until they are faced with a mystical embodiment of their nightmares. From this point on they will have a horror deeper and darker than anything they have ever experienced. Personal demons each have a power to break the family inside.
So, there are serious doubts that the actors pulled laid in the plot of the drama, however, the skimmer, judging by the trailer, there will be quite a decent. Maybe the Director, script writer and cinematographer of the film , Michael Williams, managed to put together something digestible? Man is only the second directorial effort (the first was the post-apocalyptic drama OzLand) and debut in the horror. He coped or not?
