Import of electric cars in Ukraine will be preferential until 2023.
The Verkhovna Rada has exempted from taxation the value added tax and excise tax on the import operation on the territory of Ukraine of electric vehicles until 2023. For the corresponding bill voted 252 deputies.
According to the law, temporarily until December 31, 2022 shall be exempt from taxation to the excise tax, transactions on import on customs territory of Ukraine vehicles equipped with only the electric motors.
In addition, temporarily, until December 31, 2022, exempt from VAT, transactions on import on customs territory of Ukraine, and further supply in the customs territory of vehicles equipped with only the electric motors, transactions for the supply of services on transportation of passengers by taxi, equipped with only the electric motor, and the provision of passenger transport rental (leasing, rental, transport on request) if such vehicle has only the electric motor.
