Putin spoke about the explosion in St. Petersburg supermarket

The Russian President called the explosion in the supermarket attack.

Russian President Vladimir Putin called the attack an explosion in a St. Petersburg supermarket. He stated this at the presentation of state awards to servicemen for their participation in the fighting in Syria on Thursday, 28 December.

“You know, yesterday in St. Petersburg was a terrorist act”, — said the head of state.

Putin added that the Director of the Federal security service (FSB) Alexander Bortnikov instructed to act within the law during the arrest by “bandits” involved in the bombing. “But with the threat of life and health of our employees, our officers, act decisively, no one prisoner to take, to eliminate the bandits on the spot”, — he stressed.

The explosion in the storage room of the store “Crossroads” at the Kalinin square in Saint-Petersburg has occurred on Wednesday evening, December 27. Its capacity was estimated at 200 grams in a trotyl equivalent. The investigators found that the supermarket exploded pipe bomb stuffed with striking elements. A criminal case was opened under article “Attempt at murder of two and more persons publicly dangerous method”.

According to recent reports, the explosion injured 13 people, six more remain in hospitals, the condition of some patients is estimated as average weight.
