The President of Russia Vladimir Putin after a recent August trip, again arrived in occupied Crimea. Now – to open a monument to Russian Emperor. Putin has already arrived in Yalta, where in the Park of the Livadia Palace will be a monument to Emperor Alexander III.
The four-meter monument to the Tsar-peacemaker was made of bronze on one of the Ural factories, the author became a people’s artist of Russia Andrei Kovalchuk. The Emperor is shown seated on a log of wood in uniform and leaning on a sword; behind him is a horizontal relief stele, crowned double-headed eagle.
The monument was erected on the spot where was formerly a Small Palace of the heir to the Russian throne, built in the second half of the nineteenth century “Tatar type” and destroyed during the Nazi occupation of the Crimea. In the office of the Small Livadia Palace Alexander III died on 20 October 1894.
Last October at a meeting with winners of the contest “teacher of the year” Putin called Alexander III, a prominent figure and one of the builders of our state.
Recall that in this year, Putin twice visited Russian-occupied Crimea and before the August trip, Putin was on a visit to Crimea in June. Then it was a working trip.
