Putin made a loud statement about the annexation of Crimea

Putin has called the occupation of the Crimea “with support of frightened compatriots.”

Russian President Vladimir Putin on 2 June said that sanctions against Russia were introduced after it “did not agree with the support the armed seizure of power” in Ukraine.

This statement Putin has made in answering questions in the plenary session of the economic forum in St. Petersburg, Russia.

According to him, the reason for sanctions was not the policy of Russia, and US policy. He cited the example of a military campaign of Western countries in Libya, Iraq, Libya and other countries, and added that “the support of the opposition in Ukraine spent $ 5 billion”.

“What’s that? Is to support the armed seizure of power”, – said Putin. He added that “when Russia did not agree with this, against it sanctions were imposed”.

Putin also said that “when the Russian government supported frightened compatriots in Crimea and supported the holding of a referendum on the Peninsula in accordance with international law, the answer was restriction”.

“And now in Yemen, what’s happening? There is also overthrew the President, but the entire Western world led by the US supports the actions of countries that actually are out there fighting, do we also in the whole of Ukraine had to fight, so what?”, – said Putin.
