Putin gave an explanation of provocations involving nuclear bombers near Alaska

The defense Ministry confirmed the support of the two Tu-95MS bombers off the coast of Alaska American F-22 fighters.

The Department explained that on 17 April two strategic Tu-95MS bombers assigned to the air base Ukrainka in the Amur region successfully completed the task of air patrols, route of flight passed over neutral waters of the Pacific ocean along the Aleutian Islands.

“The aircraft flew about 5,000 kilometers at speeds up to 850 km/h and altitudes up to 10 thousand meters. The flight duration was more than 7 hours. Over international waters near Alaska Tu-95MS bombers were accompanied by F-22 U.S. air force for 27 minutes”, — stated in the message.

In the defense Ministry added that the flight was in accordance with International rules of using airspace over neutral waters. The borders of other States were not violated.
