Putin conducted a purge of top generals

Putin dismissed 12 generals in the power Department.

By his decree the President of Russia Vladimir Putin dismissed the Deputy head EMERCOM of Russia Vladimir Artamonov and 12 high-ranking generals of the interior Ministry, the emergencies Ministry and the Investigative Committee.

“Dismissed Artamonov Vladimir Sergeyevich, state Secretary- Deputy Minister of the Russian Federation for civil defense, emergencies and elimination of consequences of natural disasters,” — said in the text of the decree published on the Russian official legal information portal.

Also dismissed Deputy head of the National center for crisis management emergency response, emergency situations Minister Sergei Vorontsov and the Director of the Department of supervision and preventive work of the Ministry of emergency situations Sergey Caddow.
