The fire broke out in a 6-storey building near Broadway. The flames engulfed the upper floors of a residential building.
Black smoke covered the entire Manhattan. In result people are warned about poor visibility on the road and asked all Americans suffering from asthma, temporarily to leave the new York area.
The incident left 200 rescuers with special equipment. Now the fire managed to be liquidated. Experts establish the reasons of ignition.
According to rescuers, it is unknown how many people were in the house at the time of the fire. The fire occurred in one of the rooms on the 6th floor. The incident resulted in the roof of the building burned to the ground.
