The release of Eclipse Cross starts closer to the fall of 2017.
The Japanese company seems to be regularly rolling out cutting-edge concept cars, but rarely bring them to production stage. Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross – rare, so the long-awaited exception.
No more teasers and prototypes at the exhibition in Geneva the company showed the latest Mitsibishi Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross practically in the same form in which it will go on public sale. However, accurate price positioning is still the subject of conjecture. The release of Eclipse Cross starts closer to the fall 2017, and in Ukraine the novelty will arrive only next year. Closer to that time and it will make sense to talk about the prices, as well as the Ukrainian specifications.
As for the technical part, the basis for the crossover was redesigned Outlander platform. Among the available engines is the 1.5-liter gasoline turbo unit with direct injection 2.2-litre turbodiesel, although Mitsubishi have not yet called specific power figures. According to unconfirmed reports, their output will be about 120 HP and 170 HP respectively. It is possible that crossover will eventually appear and a hybrid powerplant.
It is known that the optional all-wheel drive transmission works in conjunction with the electronic imitation of cross-axle locks and a system of vectoring thrust, the effect of which is achieved through the work of the ESP. Plus, Eclipse comes with a Cross selector drive modes depending on the type of coating.
The new interior is distinctive, however, is woven entirely of familiar elements like the steering wheel, buttons and various keys. The Central display of the multimedia system looks fresh, and some control functions are translated into touch touchpad next to the arm of the ACP. Among the options are head-up display, camera circular review, adaptive cruise control and other electronic assistants.
