The new model is less powerful 69 HP than the previous version of the Insignia OPC.

Completely new GSi Opel Insignia will make its public debut at the Frankfurt motor show in September this year.

From a technical point of view, the novelty is equipped with a 2.0-liter gasoline turbo engine which delivers power of 252 HP and 400 Nm of torque, which is mated with a new automatic transmission with eight speeds with the switch on the steering wheel.

Opel also notes that, despite the fact that the new model is less powerful 69 HP than the previous version of the Insignia OPC, it’s still a very good spravlyaetsya at high speed.

“This combination of low weight, especially on the front axle – low center of gravity, easy to handle, high power across a broad rpm range and the best traction, which makes GSi so fast,” said Walker, Strizek, division Director Opel Performance Cars & Motorsport. “This is pure efficiency. A high level of performance ideal for Nordshleife and delivers a lot of pleasure from riding and the benefits of safety on public roads”.

One of the reasons is that the new Insignia GSi 160 kg lighter than the previous version of OPC, thanks to a completely new chassis. Also the machine is equipped with 20-inch wheels, adaptive shock absorbers and a set of larger Brembo brakes.
