Toyota has improved the car for “Le Mans”.
The Toyota team GAZOO Racing showed the car for the new season of the world championship on races on endurance (WEC), the number of races which includes the famous “24 hours of Le Mans.”
Machine is an upgraded version of last year’s sport prototype — TS050 Hybrid, which the team could have won the daily marathon went down because of the failure shortly before the finish.
Composed of a 1000-strong powerplant remained the same petrol engine — a 2.4-liter six-cylinder twin-turbo unit, which has improved temperature efficiency, changed the compression ratio and modified cylinder head and combustion chamber.
The motor-generator is reduced in size and became easier, was a modified unit of lithium-ion batteries, upgraded chassis and changed the aerodynamics of the car. Engineers, for example, 15 mm raised front splitter and have already made a rear diffuser.
New sportprototip drove 30 thousand kilometers on the tests, including a 30-hour endurance tests.
Toyota produced three vehicles: the car number seven will be Kamui Kobayashi, Mike Conway and Jose Maria Lopez, by car number eight Sebastien Buemi, Anthony Davidson and Kazuki Nakajima, while the car number nine — Stefan Sarazzin, Nicolas Lapierre did and Yuji Kunimoto.
