Sleep a person needs also to ensure that the body received a psychological discharge
Science is well aware of what negative impact on physiological health have sleep disorders. And now psychologists from Stanford University found that nevirapine people face suicidal thoughts.
Especially often it occurs in young people.
Depending on the time of falling asleep and awakening, these people have nightmares and develop insomnia. Both of these factors affect the appearance of suicidal thoughts.
Sleep a person needs in order for his body was not only a biological recovery processes, but also the psychological discharge in a day of stress. Poor quality sleep deprives your brain of the ability to carry out this discharge, which affects the mood and increases the risk of developing symptoms of depression, one of which is suicidal thoughts.
The study authors emphasize that sleep disorders need to allocate in a separate category of risk factors for suicide, as they are clearly visible from the side unlike the deep inner experiences.
In addition, sleep disturbances are not considered something shameful in society, and people can ask for help from a specialist. Especially now that the existing treatment methods can effectively solve this problem.
Their findings the researchers made on the basis of observation of 50 people in age from 18 to 23 years who have in the past, attempts have been suicide or suicidal thoughts. Their sleep quality was evaluated during the week, when the participants of the experiment wore special bracelets that monitor traffic day and night.
It turned out that the more irregular was the bedtimes and awakening of man, the more he had suicidal thoughts. Thus, sleep disturbances directly influence the risk of suicide, as the study showed.
