Prime Minister of Japan is ready to go to the world with Putin

According to him, Russian-Japanese relations and the potential for development.

Prime Minister of Japan Shinzo Abe said that a peace Treaty between Russia and Japan should sign it they with Vladimir Putin.

“The most important thing for Japanese-Russian relations – the conclusion of a peace Treaty. This time we decided that a peace Treaty we will sign it”, – he said at the Eastern economic forum.

The Prime Minister noted that Russian-Japanese relations and the potential for development.

“In just one year between Japan and Russia have started many things that we couldn’t do in the last 70 years. And if you continue another year, then another year, we see a bright future ahead of Sino-Russian relations, revealed fully the existing potential”, – said Abe.

According to him, Putin is able to overcome all difficulties and to achieve the signing of a peace Treaty for the sake of the next generation.

The Russian President, in turn, noted that the peace Treaty issue was raised during his talks with the Japanese Prime Minister, however, did not specify the details of the discussion.

Tokyo links the signing of the peace Treaty with the solution of territorial disputes: Japan claims the Islands of Etorofu, Kunashiri, Shikotan and Habomai, referring to bilateral Treatise on trade and borders of 1855. The return of the Islands Tokyo made it a condition of signing a peace Treaty with Russia, which after the Second world war and was not signed.

Moscow claims that the southern Kuril Islands became part of the Soviet Union at the end of the Second world war and the Russian sovereignty over them with appropriate international legal design, not subject to doubt.

Russia is ready to work with Japan’s projects for the development of the South Kuril Islands. The country is now actively discussing the possibility of carrying out, within the joint economic activity.
