Premiere of the fifth generation Subaru Impreza

Hatchback grew in size and received a more effective design.

At the Frankfurt motor show saw the premiere of the fifth generation of the Subaru Impreza hatchback. The car received a number of major changes, including on the part of the exterior.

The novelty is created on a completely new platform Subaru Global Platform (SGP), the development of which took the company 10 years. The new design helped to make the body larger and to shift the center of gravity of the car, improve its safety and remove the noise.

The hatchback design has become more recognizable, and dimensions – more in comparison with the predecessor. The car became longer and wider and the wheelbase increased to 2700 mm (25 mm more).

The Impreza remains an all-wheel drive. Motor gamma innovations represented a 1.6-liter boxer engine producing 115 horsepower. Will also be available two-liter unit with increased to 12.5 compression ratio and direct fuel injection.
