Portugal’s interior Minister resigned because of the fires

The Minister decided that there are no more conditions for work on a former post.

The Minister of internal Affairs of Portugal resigned after widespread fires in the country.

The Minister of internal Affairs of Portugal, Constanza Urbano de Sousa resigned from his post after the fires, which killed about 100 people in the two worst disasters in the country over the past four months, said a government statement.

“I believe that I have not had the political and personal conditions to continue at my post,” – said the former Minister of internal Affairs.

In June 2017 the accident occurred in the Central part of Portugal because of the intense heat, which in some areas of the country exceed 40 degrees.
