President Petro Poroshenko wrote a letter to the Chairman of the Parliament Andrei has Probil with a request to withdraw the draft law on anti-corruption courts and proposed the creation of a Parliament group on elaboration of this law. A copy of the letter issued a press Secretary of the President Svyatoslav Tsegolko in Facebook.
“The creation of the Supreme court anti-corruption should become a powerful element of system of counteraction of corruption, and delay its creation is considered unacceptable,” – says Poroshenko.
The President recalled that on 6 October, the Venice Commission criticized the draft laws on the establishment of a special anti-corruption of the judiciary.
“Therefore, the utmost urgency is the development and introduction of the new agreed draft law on Higher anti-corruption court. The submission and registration of the new bill, because bill No. 6011, which is still included in the agenda of the session of the Verkhovna Rada, despite the recommendations of the Venice Commission to withdraw,” the letter reads.
He also requests as quickly as possible to entrust the head of the profile Committee of the Verkhovna Rada to establish a working group on elaboration of the bill taking into account the recommendations of the Venice Commission.
