Poroshenko wants to establish relations with Poland

Relations between the countries have recently become more intense.

President Petro Poroshenko proposed to hold an extraordinary meeting of the Advisory Committee of the presidents of Ukraine and Poland. This was reported by press Secretary of the President Svyatoslav Tsegolko in Facebook.

“To strengthen strategic partnership between Ukraine and the Republic of Poland and to avoid further escalation of tension, recognizing the need to address any problematic issues in bilateral relations exclusively civilized European way, Ukraine’s President Petro Poroshenko initiated an emergency meeting of the Advisory Committee of the presidents of Ukraine and Poland” – said in it.

According to Tsigalko, resonant statements from representatives of the official Polish authorities in the Ukraine and its leadership has been sounding lately, a serious concern and cannot remain without an adequate response.

He also drew attention that the Ministry of foreign Affairs has previously stated that in Ukraine there are no politicians with anti-Polish sentiments.

“Advisory Committee is an Advisory body, it is intended to promote the implementation of the agreements between leaders of the two countries to deepen friendly relations between Ukraine and Poland, which is headed by foreign policy advisors of presidents,” added the spokesman.
