From the blockade may affect the stability of the hryvnia, says head of state.
President Petro Poroshenko said that the blockade in the Donbass threatens not only the country’s energy system and the economy as a whole.
“Any direct threats to the energy security of the state. And the threats today are not only related to the energy sector”, – quotes words of the President in a speech to the NSDC press service.
According to him, the embargo may affect the stability of the hryvnia.
“They “protect” the Ukrainian metallurgy coke from Ukrainian, Ukrainian family – from the Ukrainian heat, Ukrainian house Ukrainian of light, Ukrainians from jobs, and Ukrainian hryvnia – from stability”, – said Poroshenko.
He noted that risks for metallurgical plants creates the risk of decrease in foreign exchange earnings, since only the metal industry, the volume of foreign exchange earnings annually is more than $ 2 billion.
“No need to explain the implications for exchange rate policy, inflation, welfare and the life of every citizen of Ukraine”, – said the President.
The President also stressed that the blockade contribute to the image of a weak state.
“They create the image of a weak state of chaos and ataman, when the state is not able to restore order and this is the picture in the foreign media”, – he said.
