“The important position that the United States fully supported Ukraine’s proposals, my proposals, which was announced in 2015, regarding the placement in the East of Ukraine, in occupied territory, peacekeepers with the mandate of the UN security Council,” – said Poroshenko.
The President stressed that the Ukrainian position provides for the expansion of this mandate to the entire occupied territory of the East of the country, including the uncontrolled section of the Ukrainian-Russian border, which will prevent the penetration of Russian troops, Russian arms, Russian ammunition, and in fact would serve the cause of peace.
Poroshenko also stated that the parties agreed position on the need for early establishment of peace in the region.
