Merkel and Poroshenko discussed the situation in the Donbass, the Minsk agreement.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has held a phone conversation with Federal Chancellor of Germany Angela Merkel. On Thursday, September 28, reported the press service of the head of state.
The topics of conversation was the situation in the Donbass, the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
“In particular, was coordinated approaches to the implementation of the initiative to deploy the UN peacekeeping operation on the territory of the occupied part of Donbas and uncontrolled section of the Ukrainian-Russian border”, – noted in press service.
In addition, and discussed the recent verdict, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of Crimean Tatar people Ilmi Umerov. Poroshenko stressed the need for action to prevent the execution of such decisions and the consolidation of international support on the issue of release of Ukrainian hostages held by Russia.
It is noted that during a conversation Poroshenko congratulated Merkel on the victory of her party in the elections.
