In the AP believe that the preparation for the deployment of peacekeepers in Donbas can last six months.
Preparations for the deployment of peacekeepers of the United Nations in the Donbas since the adoption of the relevant decision could last six months.
This was the Deputy head of the presidential Administration Konstantin Eliseev said last night in a broadcast on national TV channels.
“Of course, I understand humanly impatience of many in order to deploy peacekeepers. We also want to. But apart from desired, there are real opportunities. But the reality today is that it will take even weeks, and months, the negotiation mandate and the placing of peacekeepers,” – said Elisha.
According to him, as a rule, judging from the experience of other countries, since the adoption of the decision until full deployment of a peacekeeping mission takes at least six months.
Eliseev also noted that prior to the deployment of peacekeepers need to undergo certain stages, one of which is the direction of the assessment mission to study the situation in the Donbas. In addition, the Deputy head raised the issue of favorable logistical conditions for the deployment of peacekeepers.
“(Stages) will include the requests to all member countries of the UN to provide peacekeepers and the delivery of these peacekeepers, delivery of equipment, machinery, and so it will take some months,” – said Elisha. Thus, in his opinion, it is better to start this process as soon as possible but fast enough to implement this initiative will not succeed.
