The Deputy head of the presidential administration of Ukraine Dmytro Shimkiv said that the President of Russia Vladimir Putin has tried to mislead the French, calling Anna Yaroslavna Russian. About this he wrote on the page in Facebook.
“My dear French friends, President Putin of Russia tried to mislead you today, Anna of Kiev, Queen of France, from Kiev, not from Moscow (at that time Moscow did not even exist)”, – he reminded.
Shymkiv also said that the Ukrainian community in France honors the memory of Anna in Senlis, where she founded a monastery.
“By the way, the famous Reims gospel, which was used during coronations of the French kings, was originally a private book Anne of the famous library of Yaroslav the Wise, her father, the Grand Prince of Kiev”, – he said.
Shymkiv also advised to pay attention to the looks of Yaroslav the Wise.
