President Petro Poroshenko said that you have already had the first contacts with the Ukrainian side with the administration of the new President of France Emmanuel Makron.

“My major foreign policy adviser to Mr. Kostiantyn Yeliseyev communicates with the new diplomatic adviser to the President of Macron. And we are now working on preparing for the telephone conversation. But the first signal that we got from Paris, Berlin quite promising – that the functioning of the Normandy format will remain in force,” – said the head of state, answering a question about expectations from the new President of France and the fate of the Normandy format.
Poroshenko said that he had the opportunity to chat with Emmanuel Macron prior to his election as President of France.
“A vote for President of Macron to become effective demonstration of responsible choice of the French people. Attempt to distribute populist euroskeptic sentiment among the French population failed”, – said the President.
The head of state stressed once again that Ukraine is a vital question of peace and the implementation of the Minsk agreements.
