Thanks to this law, new opportunities for military-technical cooperation.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko praised the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada having voted in the second reading for the law “On national security”.
Poroshenko, on this occasion recorded a video message.
According to the President, for 4 years in Ukraine was created one of the strongest armies in Europe, “which firmly holds the Fort in the East of Ukraine and the whole continent.”
A new Law on national security introduces advanced world standards in our army, the secret services and law enforcement bodies of Ukraine. It strengthens our military and defense capabilities, strengthen civilian control over the military, transparency of the defense budget,– said Poroshenko.
He added that thanks to this law, new opportunities for military-technical cooperation with allies of Ukraine, in particular from the United States.
“This also applies to the supply of modern defensive weapons, and not only “Javelin”, – said Poroshenko.
The adopted law, the President called an important step on Ukraine’s way to NATO.
“This Law is an important step on the path to European and Euro-Atlantic integration. This is our strategic course in the near future intends to enshrine it in the Constitution,” insisted the President.
