To control the quality and safety of food products will begin in the spring of 2018.
The President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law “On state control, which is carried out to check compliance with the legislation on safety and quality of food and feed, health and welfare of animals”. The law will come into force in spring 2018, according to a press release of the Ministry of agrarian policy and food.
According to the Deputy Minister of agrarian policy and food of Ukraine on European integration Olga Trofimciuc, covering the entire production chain from field to table, will enable Ukrainian producers to work according to European rules, and for consumers to be confident in the quality and safety of food products.
Trofimova stressed that in order for the law to be fully operational it is necessary to take a large number of bylaws.
