Poroshenko at the UN General Assembly made a loud statement on the Crimea

The Crimea became the territory of reprisals, said the President.

Russia intensified the persecution of Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars in the annexed Crimea.

On Wednesday, September 20, the President said Petro Poroshenko, speaking at the UN General Assembly in new York.

“The three-year war with Russia is 10 thousand killed, 7% of the occupied Ukrainian territory, 20% of the Ukrainian economy and industrial production is seized, destroyed or simply stolen. However, the most terrible in this situation is that the Kremlin deliberately chose the tactics of strengthening of human suffering. The occupied Crimean Peninsula, in accordance with the observations of activists on human rights, has become a territory of repression,” – said Poroshenko.

The head of state noted that in the Crimea, often kill those who disagree with the policy of the Kremlin.

“Ukrainians and Crimean Tatars are arrested even for publications in social networks, or, as it happened with Vladimir Baluchon, for hanging a Ukrainian flag,” Poroshenko added.
