President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko has signed the law on education in Ukraine, adopted by Parliament on 5 September 2017.
On Monday, September 25, reported the press service of the head of state.
According to the head of the state, the adoption of this law will allow for a deep educational reform that will improve the competitiveness of the young generation on the labour market.
“This is one of the main reforms, because one of the other reforms the country’s future does not depend as educational,” – said Poroshenko.
He also stressed that the law enhances the role of the Ukrainian language in the educational process, provides equal opportunities for all.
We will remind, on September 5 the Verkhovna Rada adopted the law, which begins the education reform in Ukraine. This document, in particular, specifies that the language of the educational process in educational institutions is the only state language. The languages of national minorities, including Russian, will be studied only till the fifth grade, but in 2020 this rule will not be education in Ukraine will be Ukrainian as a whole.
This law has been criticised Hungary, Romania, Moldova and some other countries.
