The Minister gave an extensive interview.
To date, there are five main tasks that you want to focus for the reform of the Armed forces of Ukraine (AFU).
About it in interview to the edition “Terezi look” said the Minister of defence of Ukraine Stepan Poltorak.
“First of all, implementation of sound personnel policy. This has increased the salaries of military personnel, especially those that perform tasks in the ATO area. Work in this direction we plan to go on and on. Also the decision to increase funding for housing. Directed additional funding to improve the system of selection and training for sergeants,” – said Poltorak.
The second priority task, according to the Minister, is to ensure a balanced approach in the use of financial and material resources. In addition, major efforts are now focused on Ukraine’s accession to NATO. “Among the priorities that need to be implemented in a relatively short time, is providing the Armed forces with necessary weapons, military and special equipment. And, of course, need to continue to develop and improve defence infrastructure. Therefore, according to the perspective plan, each team will be built dormitories for contract servicemen.
In addition, the continued improvement of training centers, ranges and other military facilities,” – said the head of the defense Ministry. As noted Poltorak, further strengthening the defense of Ukraine is possible only under condition of introduction of radical changes.
