60% of Russians believe that men must serve in the army. This follows from a survey by the Levada center.
24% of respondents called the military service obligation that should be given to the state, 12% — “pointless and dangerous”.
Also, the Russians asked about what kind of service contract or call — need in Russia. 31% of survey participants called for a full transition to the contract, 17% over-equipped conscripts, and 49% for the mixed option.
Add, 82% of Russians would prefer to have a larger budget was aimed at improving the welfare of citizens, not for military power (12%).
Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin said that in the future to encourage new recruits into the army will not. “Call gradually disappearing. However, this requires time and adequate funding,” — said Putin.
