Conceptual development called the Plymouth Belmont 1954 will go on the auction.
In the 1950s, American automakers were especially eager to go to bold, truly new design in the industry, creating a fantastic conceptual model.
That’s the kind of handsome once “sculpted” in Chrysler. However, Plymouth Belmont, which you can see here, the reality never began, existing in only one copy.
With a body made of fiberglass and standard chassis the Plymouth Belmont could become a competitor to the Chevrolet Corvette and Ford Thunderbird — if he was approved to start mass production.
Fortunately, although some of the other concept cars of the same era was destroyed, this was saved. So, Mr. Exner (Chrysler Design boss) personally saved the car, taking her with me to the garage to the house.
Now 60 years later, the car was impeccably restored and is up for auction. It is also encouraging that the car has the original 4.0-liter V8 engine, 157 horsepower, coupled with a three-speed automatic transmission.
This is one of the only cars that we will see next month is already at auction Barrett-Jackson (Scottsdale).
