Fully Autonomous model from the French company will have in 2020.
The company Peugeot has developed an unmanned vehicle on the basis of the 3008 crossover, which in March won the competition “European car of the year”. Public premiere of new items will be held at the tennis tournament Roland-Garros on may 31, the press service of the brand.
The car was created in the framework of the AVA (“Unmanned vehicles”). Starting next year, a number of new unmanned functions will be installed on all production models Peugeot. Fully Autonomous system from the French automaker to be expected after three years.
“Starting from 2020, thanks to the “hans off” and “eyes off”, the autopilot will be able to fully take control of the car”, — explained in the company.
Earlier it was reported that Peugeot and Citroen will start testing vehicles with Autonomous control systems in Singapore. Partner of the PSA test will serve as a local company nuTonomy — the world’s first operator of the unmanned taxi.
At the moment specialists nuTonomy have already started installation of computer equipment and special sensors and development software. It is expected that testing will be completed in the summer, and the first unmanned Peugeot 3008 will be on Singapore roads in September 2017.
